AAA Cards Challenge #57 - Love Me Like You Do

Are you loving the AAA Cards challenges this year? And the prizes? Thought so! Our next challenge starts today and it's all about LOVE. And you're going to love this prize!

http://aaacards.blogspot.com/2016/01/game-57-love-me-like-you-do.html

Prize: $20 gift certificate to Happy Little Stampers

For my sample card I used a digital image from Digi Stamp Boutique and chose some pretty pinks as my main colours.

I rounded all the corners with a punch that reminded me of the top of a heart - bit of a heart theme going on here.

I added just a pop of a different colour by tying black and white bakers twine underneath the white strip - sot of grounds it I'm thinking.

Supplies:
Stamps: Digi Stamp Boutique, Merlin & Blinky set; Uniko, Always & Forever
Ink: Memento, tuxedo black
Promarkers: rose pink, fuchsia pink, buttercup, mustard, raw sienna, vanilla, oatmeal, coral, satin, marsh green, umber
Punch: Crafts too, corner rounder
Embellishments: twine from my stash

Hoping to see your card making an appearance in the AAA Cards gallery and with such a wonderful prize on offer I'm tempted to have a go myself! Aww sob - not allowed!

Thanks for visiting my blog today, I do value your support.

And keep crafting!

Saturday Sayings

I'm back today with just enough time to scrape into the Christmas Challenge at Happy Little Stampers before it closes.

http://www.happylittlestampers.com/2016/01/hls-january-christmas-challenge.html

Here's my card:

Well it had to have bells didn't it! So I decided to hang my bells from a garland across the top left corner of the card.

All the red stars and the bells plus the 'i' dot in jingle were liberally sparkled up - Christmas is all about glitter, right?

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Garlands Galore, Jingle Bells
Inks: Memento, tuxedo black
Promarkers: mustard, crimson
Glitter: Stickles, platinum, crystal

I'm also going to pop this card into Craftyhazelnut's Christmas challenge. I've only just discovered this challenge through Uniko who are sponsoring this week's challenge.

Thanks for dropping by today, hope you enjoyed your visit.

And keep crafting!

Friday Fling

A bit of a late in the day posting for me but I wanted to get the card I've been busy making this afternoon up and running. It's for the CASE the Designer and CAS challenges at Happy Little Stampers.

http://www.happylittlestampers.com/2016/01/january-case-designer-kylie-purtell.html

And I'm thinking I've done a fairly similar card to the original. The butterfly, the thanks, the colours and the one curved corner all spoke to me!

And as I smooshed the background and is quite simple it will also fit their CAS card challenge.

I'm loving the bright sunny colours and butterflies - makes me think of warm Summer days.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, All Occasion Sentiments #3; Kaisercraft, Botanical
Inks: SU, crushed curry, melon mambo; Memento, tuxedo black

Thanks for looking this evening, I really appreciate your time.

And keep crafting!

CAS Colours & Sketches #158

Already the last January challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches! How time flies! And we have a simple but very different sketch to get your brain going this week.
http://cascoloursandsketches.blogspot.com/2016/01/challenge-158-sketch.html

I'm wondering what you're thinking! Well here's my card:

It was such a dull dreary rainy day when I made this card that I need a pop of something bright to raise my spirits - a bit more than a pop I'm thinking!

Don't you just love how jazzy the Uniko house stamps looks on the rainbow chevron paper? Shame there really wasn't a rainbow, it just carried on raining all day.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Home Sweet Home
Ink: Memento, tuxedo black
Papers: Doodlebug, Take Note

So now it's your turn to get your creative cap on, but just before you get going be sure to check out the rest of the CAS Colours & Sketches DT cards.

Thanks for your time today. And keep crafting!

Wednesday Words

I'm on a roll with entering challenges this week - yay! Today's card is for STAMPlorations theme and sketch challenge. The theme is stamps and CAS - right up my street then and the sketch is a classic.

http://stamplorations.blogspot.co.uk/search/label/monthly%20challenge   http://stamplorations.blogspot.co.uk/search/label/monthly%20challenge

I had such fun stamping and creating this card, hope you like it!

I started by masking off a portion of the base card and repeatedly stamping the script down the right hand side.  Next I turned the flower stamp upside down to get a block image without any markings and stamped it on top of the script.

One of my past year's one little words was my sentiment and I used the misti tool to get a good clear deep colour - magic! Finally I stamped and hand cut the butterfly onto vellum and added a gem .

Supplies:
Stamps: STAMPlorations, Believe; Uniko, English Country Garden - Butterflies; Clearly Besotted, Design A Tree; Inkylicious, Elements 1
Inks: SU, crushed curry; Memento, tuxedo black; StazOn, jet black
Embellishments: Papermania, adhesive gem, Capsule Sunshine

This is so my favourite type of card and I'm already wondering how it would look in other colourways - maybe purple or pink?

Thanks so much for spending time looking at my blog today, so pleased you did.

And keep crafting!

Tuesday Talk

Another card made for a couple of challenges - I have to say I'm really enjoying this burst of challenge energy!  Today it's for Addicted to CAS where they want RED and Less Is More where they want a silhouette.

http://www.addictedtocas.blogspot.com.au/2016/01/challenge-80-red.html      We'd love you to display our banner

And here's what I came up with:

I've popped this onto a card with removable glue for the purpose of the two challenges, but I'm actually intending to peel it off and use it as a Project Life card in my scrapbook album.

I masked off the bottom portion of the card and used a homemade circular stencil to make the sunset. I then added the silhouette die cut trees along the bottom. I stamped the sentiments using my misti tool to get a dark and clear impression.

Supplies:
Stamps: STAMPlorations, Discover
Inks: SU, real red, tangelo twist, daffodil delight; Memento, tuxedo black
Die: Clearly Besotted, On The Line

I'm so pleased you had time to visit my blog today, thanks so much.

And keep crafting!

Monday Moments

Funny how my fingers almost typed moanings rather than moments! But there's no moaning today, just happiness that I've got my challenge mojo back.  So today's card uses the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and the theme from STAMPlorations CAS Card Challenge.

       http://www.freshlymadesketches.blogspot.co.uk/2016/01/freshly-made-sketches-220-sketch-by-jen.html      http://stamplorations.blogspot.co.uk/2016/01/cas-challenge-january.html

I made two versions of this card, as I wanted to try it both with and without the optional twist of silver.

Here's the first version:

I played with some of my favourite cheery colours and built up a happy little scene to represent the circles from the sketch. I added three little hearts to link the scene elements and the sentiment.

Here's the second version where I've added a partial silver mat on the left hand side.

I used a matt silver card rather than my usual go to of mirri card - thought it was a bit more subtle.

Supplies:
Stamps: Lawn Fawn, Fly Free & Hello Sunshine
Inks: SU, melon mambo, tempting turquoise, daffodil delight; Memento, tuxedo black

So do you have a favourite? Being a CAS girl at heart I'm leaning towards the first version, but then again the silver does give more definition and is still CAS enough to satisfy me. I'd love to hear your opinion.

Thanks for your time visiting my blog today, it is much appreciated.

Sunday Slot

Such a drab miserable wet day the only thing to do was to retreat to my craft room. And find some challenges to enter of course!

I discovered a fab sketch from CAS(E) this sketch and pretty colours from ColourQ.

http://www.casethissketch.blogspot.com.au/2016/01/case-this-sketch-156.html       http://colourq.blogspot.co.uk/2016/01/colourq-challenge-325.html

Here's my card:

I used the beautiful Uniko Vines stamps to create the vertical elements from the sketch and a combination of large and small sentiments for the horizontal strip.

I rounded the bottom corners of both the card base and the larger sentiment - just liked how it looked!

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Background Builders Vines & All Occasion Sentiments #6
Inks: SU, crumb cake, rose red, strawberry slush, so saffron
Punch: Crafts Too, corner rounder

I really enjoyed making this card and it feels good to enter a couple of challenges - been a while, but who knows this could become a habit once again!

Thanks for looking at my blog today, I really appreciate your time.

And keep crafting!

Uniko Challenge 28 Reminder

Just stopping by today to remind you about the current challenge going on at Uniko.  Such an easy theme - Anything Goes - and the optional twist of making it have some LOVE.

I've kept with the love theme for my card, but decided to use one of my favourite Uniko stamp sets - Balloon Bash. Such a versatile set and so easy to decorate to match any theme - so of course it had to have some hearts!

I found this little scrap of stripy paper lurking in my stash and thought it matched so well it would be rude not to include it - and I do love a strip of something down the left hand side of my cards.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Balloon Bash, All Occasion Sentiments #5
Inks: SU, daffodil delight, crisp cantaloupe, watermelon wonder, calypso coral, strawberry slush, cherry cobbler, whisper white
Paper: scrap from my stash

Now all you need to do is pop over to Uniko and be inspired by the rest of the DT and also check out the prize on offer.

Thanks for your time today, it's much appreciated.

And keep crafting!

CAS Colours & Sketches #157

Another bunch of colour yumminess at CAS Colours & Sketches this week.

http://cascoloursandsketches.blogspot.co.uk/

And for me a little experimenting with a new technique. I found the instructions here. I used the gorgeous gerbera stamp set from Uniko and really love how it looks in these two colours.

I used the leaf stamp from the set to stamp all over a scrap piece of card to make my mat - I didn't have any soft suede cardstock and thought this would be a good way round the problem.

I added a sentiment in soft suede to finish off my card.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Pure Florals Gerbera, All Occasion Sentiments #1
Inks: SU, rose red, so saffron, soft suede

All the other DT cards and our guest designer Maaike's card can be found here - be sure to go take a look.

Thanks for visiting today, hope you've found a little inspiration here.

The Male Room Challenge #27

One of my favourite themes for the new challenge at The Male Room - babies & little boys.

http://themaleroomchallengeblog.blogspot.co.uk/

And I decided to go for a new baby card and used the most adorable image from Digi Stamp Boutique.

I chose the pale blue polka dot card first and then coloured the image in shades of blue and grey to tie in with it. The duck of course had to be yellowy and I'm thinking it makes a nice little pop of something different.

Funny how in this close up I can see the circle both as a window - which it is - and as a poppped up addition. Can you see that too?

Supplies:
Stamps: Digi Stamp Boutique, Bathtime Bobbi; Uniko, Sweet Baby
Ink: Memento, tuxedo black
Promarkers: blue pearl, cornflower, lilac, blush, dusky pink, cool grey 1&2, ivory

Be sure to check out the rest of the DT creations - here - and then get crafting and creating.

Thanks for looking today, your time is much appreciated.

And keep crafting!
