White with 1 - May Challenge

A new challenge and a new colour to pair up with white at White With 1.  And if you can include some elements inspired by the photo too that would be great.

I got a bit arty with this layout and colourised my photo in photoshop. What do you think?

I used the bubbles and spotty paper as my inspiration from the beads in the photo. I also managed to include some feathers and a patterned paper that looked a bit lacy.

The machine stitching is also a nod to the lace.

Supplies:
Papers: Cocoa Vanilla, Wild At Heart; SU, Feels Like Frost; Scraps from my stash
Stencil: Funky Fossil, Rainfall & Splatters
Ink: SU, soft sky
Punch: ek success, border
Dies: Spellbinders, standard circles small; Xcut, Spiro circles
Alphas: Pink Fresh, Just a Little Lovely, ep, Country Drive; Bella Blvd, Sopisticates
Stickers: Simple Stories, Simple Vintage Botanicals; Ppaperchase, puffy hearts; Kaisercraft; MAMBI Sticks; Carta Bella Practically Perfect enamel dots; gems from my stash
Ephemera: Pretty Little Studio, satars; Cocoa Vanilla, Biys rule; Feathers, gift from friend Lizzy hill

I love this aqua colour and really enjoyed creating this page. Will you join in and play along? I look forward to seeing how the colour and photo inspire you! Find the details HERE.

White With 1 - Cyber Crop 1

Have you joined in with the White With 1 Cyber Crop yet? Well today I'm sharing a page I created for Day 1. - HERE

When I received this pic it brought a big smile to my face. I'm so grateful to my kids for sending through photos of my grandkids. I miss them all enormously!

I used pink as my add on colour - of course - and managed to get all the other elements onto my page. * at least 3 flowers, one photo, washi tape and four patterned papers.

The pic above shows the washi, the four papers and two of the flowers. The papers are all scraps from my stash - where do all these scraps come from, I must have used the whole sheet of paper at some time!

Supplies:
Papers: All scraps from my stash
Alphas: Pink Fresh Studio, Just A Little Lovely; Simple Stories, You Are Here
Embellishments: Cocoa Vanilla Wild At Heart flowers; Echo Park, washi; Paperchase, puffy hearts; Echo Park enamel dots, Imagine That
Stickers: Vicki Boutin, Maggie Holmes & Tim Holtz

Tuesday Talk

Today I'm sharing a scrapbook page documenting my grandson's second week of home schooling. It also uses a grid format to include multiple photos and may be an idea you could borrow if you're trying the White with 1 cyber crop  - HERE.

I die cut all the photos into stitched squares so that they would be easy to line up. i chose some very busy background paper as I loved all the words and bright colours.

I had quite a lot of school related stickers left over from when I shopped for his first day at school last September - my how time changes and flies by! I know he's missing the contact with little people the same age as him, but is being very stoic and not complaining too much.

And the journalling is mostly about the video that I sent him to show him the moves from the Black Lace superman song - now that's a last from my past. I shared my video on instagram if you fancy having a good laugh at an old lady trying to balance - HERE.

Supplies:
Papers: Simple Stories, Oh Happy Day & I Am
Alphas: Simple stories, I Am; Scho Park, Little Boy
Stickers: Echo park, Back to School

Thanks so much for dropping by my blog today, I really appreciate you taking the time.

AAA Cards Game #164 - One Image + optional twist Inspired by TV

Another fun CAS challenge begins today at AAA Cards. The main theme is to just just one image - and to me that means one image not a stamp with multiple images.

So for my card it was an easy pick of stamp using one of the dancing girls from CASual Fridays Tutu set - who just happen to be the challenge sponsor. I also included the twist and was inspired by The Greatest Dancer.

As this stamp is a pretty solid one I decided to use a Kaleidacolor ink pad to get some variation in colour. I added the sentiment under and a little shading just to ground her.

Supplies:
Stamps: CAS-ual Fridays, Tutu
Ink: Kaleidacolor, cappuccino delight

The rest of the AAA Cards DT have also been busy creating sample cards to encourage you to play along and we also have the lovely and talented Jasleen joining us as our Guest Designer. Check them all out HERE.

Huge thanks for dropping by today, I really enjoy having your company for a while.

Wednesday Words

Well I did warn you that once I got back into scrapbooking I would be on a roll. So today's share is page using a grid type of layout.

And here's a bit of a heads up about a cyber crop that's coming up at White with 1 over the weekend. One of the challenges is being set by me and it might just involve a grid layout as one of its components, but there are other elements needing to be included so you'll need to wait to see.

My beautiful granddaughter spent simply ages playing with her shoes sticking and unsticking the velcro fastening. And all the while wearing her new pink flowery wellies!

I die cut the white stitched squares and placed them straight onto the background paper, but then adhered each photo at a jaunty angle. I kept all my embellishments down the centre line and added journalling strips that I printed. A lot of the embellishments were gifted to me from my Australian scrapbooking friends Helen and Lizzy.

Supplies:
Paper: Vicki Boutin, mixed media
Embellishments: Scho park enamel dots Faith; Flowers from Helen; washi strips from Lizzy; Paperchase puffy hearts; Cocoa Vanilla Happiness die cuts from Helen
Die: Lawn Fawn, stitched squares

Thanks so much for looking today, I've really enjoyed having your company.

Tuesday Talk

Today I'm sharing the scrapbook page that I didn't want to create, but knew had to be done. How could my 2020 album be complete without a mention of these difficult times we're experiencing?

This is not for any challenge, but just to document where I am at the moment. So it's quite journalling heavy and I've kept the overall design simple and straightforward to not distract from what I'm saying. Hopefully in years to come I, or one of my family, will be  able to look back at this page and say we overcame it!

Although a lot of it is about the restrictions on life, I have tried to include a little about how I'm trying to adjust to a new routine. But I didn't want to sugar coat it - it is the most difficult thing I've ever experienced.

Supplies:
Papers: Echo Park, Bundle of Joy
Punch: ek, scallop border
Embellishments: Pink Fresh Studio, Everyday Musings; Echo Park enamel dots, Have Faith

Thanks so much for looking today, I really appreciate you taking the time.

Monday Moment

A card to share today. I've used the sketch from CAS Colours & Sketches.

I've used two Funky Fossil stencils for my card:

I started by masking off the top portion of my card front and used two colours of distress ink through the Dragon Scales stencil on the bottom section.

I then used both the Dragons and the Dragon Scales stencils on a scrap piece of card. I hand cut the dragon and used some black distress ink all over. loving how the scales are still just visible.

Supplies:
Stamps: sentiment from Clearly Besotted, An Open Book
Stencils: Funky Fossil, Dragons & Dragon Scales
Inks: Ranger distress, lucky cover, mermaid lagoon, black soot; Versafine Clair, nocturne
Die: MFT Die-namics, double stitched rectangles

I'm so pleased you had time to drop by today, thanks so much.

Sunday Slot

Well it seems scrapbook pages a re a bit like buses - none for ages then two at a time! Today's page was inspired by the picture challenge at Scrap the Boys.

It was all the colours, the sugar strands and the sweet treats that caught my eye.

And although I know he's not a dinosaur I thought my grandson's face echoed the pleased expression from the inspiration photo.

The background paper is one that's been lurking in my stash forever and I added a stack of papers and embellishments to one side. The netted sequins were a gift from my Australian buddy Lizzy Hill.

Supplies:
Papers: Cocoa Vanilla, wild At Heart; background paper and scraps from my stash
Stickers: Simple Stories, Vintage Botanicals & Bliss; Cocoa Vanilla, Boys rule; Jillibean Soup

Huge thanks for dropping by today, I really appreciate you taking the time.

Saturday Spot

At last I've got my scrapbooking mojo back - well at least for now anyway. Today I'm sharing a page I created using the sketch at Let's Get Sketchy.

I don't know why I've found it so difficult to scrap, probably something to do with not being able to enjoy the company of those that I like to scrap about. Every time I went to get out a photo I was filled with sadness, but I've talked to myself sternly and decided this had to stop. Scrapbooking for me is all about finding the positives and celebrating the good bits, so that's what I'm doing.

I'm kicking off today with this page featuring three of my special people all working together and concentrating hard. i replaced the doily from the sketch with a wooden frame and a journal card.

I stacked up some papers from Echo Park's Teen Spirit behind the photo and also cut out some of the triangular banner words. I added some die cut gears - their brains working - and word stickers, puffy stars and enamel dots.

The title is cut from the top of the packaging of the ephemera die cuts from Cocoa Vanilla's Boys Rule.

Supplies:
Papers: Echo Park, Teen Spirit; Simple Stories, Say Cheese II; scraps from my stash
Dies: Spellbinders, Sprightly Sprockets
Embellishments: Cocoa Vanilla, boys rule; Paperchase, puffy hearts & stars; Tim Holtz, word stickers; YNS Gumdrops, milk & cookies

Thanks for your time today, I'm so pleased to have had your company for a while.

Keep safe, stay home and craft instead!

Inks: Versafine Clair, nocturne; SU, mint macaron, melon mambo, daffodil delight
Stencil: MFT, mini cloud edges

Huge thanks for dropping by my blog today, it's so much more fun when you do.
