Tuesday Talk

Something a bit different at Less is More this week. their challenge is to combine any three previous LIM challenges into one creation. So a bit of ground work to do before getting stuck into creating.

We'd love you to display our banner

Well a little bit of delving and I chose:
#7 sketch
#23 something with legs
#40 red & orange

And since it was red and orange and knowing how much Chrissie enjoys seeing chicken cards I came up with this:

It's been ages since I've made a DL size card, but that was the best fit for my images. I mostly use 6"x 6" these days, how about you?

Don't you just love that 'shake your tail feathers' sentiment? This digi stamp set is on offer at the moment so go grab yourself a bargain - here.

I shall also be entering this card into Digi Stamp Boutique's monthly challenge - just sneaking into March!

Stamp: Digi Stamp Boutique, Cluck cluck set; Uniko Studio, Flower Power #4
Ink: Memento, tuxedo black
Colours: Promarkers, burnt orange, poppy, cool grey 1
Die: Lawn Fawn, large stitched square stackables

So pleased you visited today, thanks so much. And keep crafting!

AAA Cards Game #36

Not long to Easter now and the perfect excuse to do one of my favourite things - yep, eat chocolate! So of course the theme at AAA Cards this fortnight is chocolate - ha!  I mean Easter!

As you know my two grandsons old enough to eat chocolate live across the sea so this card is for them with maybe a little money tucked inside to help them buy some treats.

I added the googly eyes as this chick just screamed fun and silliness! Just love the different expressions they give him as they move around.

Stamps: Clearly Besotted, In Stitches Easter
Inks: Memento, dandelion, tangelo, pear tart
Dies: Clearly Besotted, In Stitches Easter; Lil'inker, Anytime tags
Paper: Doodlebug, kraft in color
Embellishments: Doodlebug sprinkles, bumblebee asst; googly eyes from my stash

Thank you for visiting today. So hoping you'll have fun and join in the challenge. And keep crafting1

Friday Focus

Today I'm sharing a page I made for week 4's sketch over at Let's Get Sketchy. It has quite a lot going on so was a real challenge for me!

So my first job was to tackle all those squares. I decided to stamp using an outine label in some colours picked up from my chosen photograph. Some of them I stamped using second generation ink to give an even softer feel. Then I added a small daffodil stamp to all the dark grey labels.

My journalling tells the story behind the photograph. You wouldn't believe the curfuffle this caused! It seemed such a good idea and so simple - well it seems babies have a mind of their own and my son, ever protectful of his son, soon said enough.

And a closer look at one of the embellishment clusters and stamping. I die cut the title letters as I wanted them to match the photo matt.

And here is my little treasure mid roll and grabbing a whole bunch of daffodils!

Paper: Chatterbox, Scrapbook Walls light denim; Lilybee design, Pinwheel lemonade stand
Stamps: Jenny Bowlin, labels; Penny Black, a bunch
Inks: SU, daffodil delight, pear pizzazz, soft sky, smoky slate
Dies: Avery Elle, pinked; Xcut, spiro circles
Embellishments: Doodlebug, mini pearls Spring asst.

Thanks for your time today, I do appreciate your visit to my blog.

And keep crafting!

CAS Colours & Sketches #117

Seems you did like my colour choices at CAS Colours & Sketches last week. Thanks for all your beautiful creations. And I can't believe it's already time for the last challenge of my first stint as challenge hostess.

This week it's a sketch and I already had my card made in my head when I created it.

A super quick, super simple card, but very post friendly with no raised parts.

The strip down the left hand side is a piece of doodlebug paper that I've been hoarding for a while - can't bear to think it's nearly all gone! This would make such an amazing stamp, wondering if there is one like it out there - do let me know if there is.

I matched the colours for the flowers to the paper, but couldn't resist adding a pop of turquoise for the sentiment. And yes I've used that big spotty and small solid combination again!

Stamps: Uniko Studio, Background Builders Vines, Flower Power #5; Clealry Besotted, Happy Birthday
Inks: SU, melon mambo, tempting turquoise, daffodil delight
Paper: Doodlebug, Take Note

As the theme at Uniko Studio is anything goes I'm popping this card into their challenge.

Thanks for coming by today, hope you have fun with my sketch. As always loads more inspiration can be found from the talented DT.  And keep crafting!

Wednesday Words

This week at Less is More the challenge is to CASE one of the DT cards.

We'd love you to display our banner

So I decided to go with Sarah's wedding themed card.

I picked up on the silver accents, heart shaped window, two layers and white space.

I used a technique I learnt about at the Stretch Your Dies online  card class - here. A super idea, although not quite as easy as it looks in the video, but I got there!

And I kinda like the secret element this hinged die cut gives.

Stamps: Uniko Studio, Flower Power #3, Always & Forever
Ink: Memento, tuxedo black
Card: glitter & silver from my stash

Thanks for looking today, so pleased you spent some time here. And keep crafting!

Tuesday Talk

Last week I made a bit of a cheeky entry to The Male Room's current challenge of Under Water. So this week I'm going completely straight and doing the obvious.

Grab our button for your blog

I used a digi stamp from Cuddly Buddly and printed it in the bottom right hand corner of a piece of sea green coloured card.  I randomly coloured some bits of the fish and also randomly added Wink of Stella.

I die cut the card and then die cut another matching piece of card the next size up. I sandwiched a piece of holographic card between and die cut the sentiment to match.

I added a few glossy accent bubbles and my card was done.

Stamp: Cuddly buddly, Skool of Fish
Colours: Promarkers, blush, tulip yellow, pine, leaf green, cool aqua, azure
Dies: Lil'inker, stitched mats rectangle; Lawn Fawn, Happy Birthday border
Embellishments: Glossy Accents; Wink of Stella, clear

Thanks for your visit today, much apprciated. And keep crafting!

Monday Moment

The challenge this fortnight at Time Out is right up my street - CAS with an optional twist of black and white plus a splash of one colour. Perfect!

Grab Our Badge!

And I decided to give my Clearly Besotted bicycle some love. It's been a while since I've used this stamp set and I thought to give it a current look by splitting the card into two two strips before mounting onto the base card.

My pop of colour is the pink hearts floating out of the basket and they were liberally sparkled up with Wink of Stella and given dimension by adding Glossy Accents.

Stamps: Clearly Besotted, Good Times
Inks: Memento, tuxedo black, rose red
Embellishments: Papermanis, pearls; washi from my stash; Wink of Stella, clear; Glossy Accents

Thaks for dropping by today, your time is appreciated. And keep crafting!

Saturday Slot

Time for a new challenge at The Male Room and their theme is Under Water.

Grab our button for your blog

Now this stamp immediately came to mind and I happily started creating with just the tiniest bit of wondering if it qualifies for their theme.

He definitely is under some water, and I did add some more droplets with glossy accents, but as the wondering keeps growing and this is a fortnightly challenge I'll probably make another card with a less cheeky link next week.

As I'm participating in the online class Stretch Your Dies - although I'm still way back at day 2's videos - it has made me focus on using more of my dies, which is why I've put the sentiment onto a speech bubble. Do go check out this class - here - it's so informative and there are loads of general crafting tips to be picked up as well as new ideas for using dies.

Stamps: LOTV, April Showers; Clearly Besotted, Diagonal Stripes; Uniko Studio, Background Builders Squared
Inks: Memento, tuxedo black; SU, night of navy, pistachio pudding, soft sky
Dies: Lil'inker, stitched mats rectangles; Clearly Besotted, You Said It
Colours: Flexmarker, linen; Promarker, cloud blue, cool grey 3, 4 & 5
Embellishmants: Candi dots, Glossy Accents

Thanks for dropping by today, I really appreciate it. And keep crafting!

CAS Colours & Sketches #116

Thank you for all the amazing entries using my sketch last week at CAS Colours & Sketches. This week it's my second time to choose the colours and they were heavily influenced by this photo.

So here are my colours for this week's challenge:

And my card was also inspired by that vase of tulips.  I tried to echo the feel of the tulips by using pens on the stamp, making each one slightly different.

The colours are more true to real life in the photo below. I used that beautiful spotty sentiment from Clearly Besotted - still really loving how it contrasts with the smaller simpler font of the rest of the greeting.

And a trio of yellow sprinkles just finished it off a treat.

Stamps: Clearly Besotted, Pretty Petals Plus & Happy Birthday
Inks: SU, daffodil delight, strawberry slush, wild wasabi
Embellishments: Doodlebug sprinkles, bumblebee asst.

Maybe you like these colours - certainly hoping so and I'm so looking forward to seeing what you create. Need some more inspiration? Go check out the awesome cards the DT created!

Thanks for your time today, I really appreciate your visit. And keep crafting!

Wednesday Words

Wow! Look at March week 3's sketch at Let's Get Sketchy! So much going on and so out of my comfort zone! But curiously I loved it straight away and was excited to get scrapping.

And it was perfect for this page. Now I don't often get to scrap girly themed pages so this was an absolute treat and I so enjoyed creating, what is for me, an extremely heavily embellished page. And with flowers! And with purple! I was in heaven! Such a joy!

This is Vic's first ever Mother's Day - here in the UK it's in March. And Andrew wanted to make it special for her, so both grannies were invited and he cooked his first ever Sunday roast. I'll be making a separate page about that with loads of journalling, but I was so proud of him that I thought it deserved a mention here.

Look at all the flowers and flourishes! These flowers have been hiding in my stash for ever. I made them years ago when I was very into exploding boxes and couldn't bear to throw them away once that phase was over - see hoarding does eventually have a purpose!

I didn't have any purple alphas, so I die cut my title letters from the same paper as the three journalling strips. And then I found these tiny stickers to add magic underneath.

Papers: KN, Hip-hip-hooray; LOTV, NitWits; ep, Winter Wishes
Alphas: Szzix, Vintage Market; stickers from my stash
Stamps: SU, Gorgeous Grunge; Clearly Besotted, Sunburst; Inkylicious, Some Moments; swirl from my stash; AC, Dear Lizzy date stamp
Inks: SU, wisteria wonder, marina mist
Punches: Matha Stewart daisy & butterfly, Tonic studio, butterfly; Dovrcraft, daisy; Ppaper Shapers, swirl
Embellishments: Scrap 365, wooden shapes; Ppaermanis, adhesive stones
So pleased you stopped by my blog today, thank you.

And keep crafting!

Tuesday Talk

It's one layer week over at Less is More and the theme is animals.

We'd love you to display our banner

So time to break open that new Clearly Besotted animal stamp set then!

I started by stamping and colouring the lion and then used some stencils to add a bit of grass for him to lurk in and some sun rays - lions like sunshine, don't they? Oh and a double stamped bit of grass to keep him cool.

I find using stencils a good way to add extra impact to one layer cards. And I'm thinking if you're making a card for Less is More why not pop over to AAA Cards and enter it there too where the theme is bare naked CAS and a one layer card fits a treat.

Stamps: clearly Besotted, Wild Thing & Simple Silhouettes
Inks: SU, soft suede, daffodil delight; Adirondack, willow
Stencils: Memory Box, Shine; Prima Marketing, grassy swirl
Colours: Promarker, sandstone; Flexmarker, burnt sienna

Great to have you call in today, thanks so much! And keep crafting!
