Sunday Spot

Today I'm sharing a card I created using the sketch from CAS Colours & Sketches.

I loved the simplicity of this sketch and the option to use any shapes instead of the triangles.

I started by die cutting the stitched rectangle and choosing some bright red for the base card. I then stamped the flowers using Uniko's Mid Century Modern Florals stamp set in bright tulipy colours. I finished off with a sentiment from BIG & BOLD Happy.

Supplies:
Inks: Verafine Clair, nocturne; SU, real red, old olive, pumpkin pie, daffodil delight
Die: MFT Die-namics, double stitched rectangles

Huge thanks for stopping by today, it really is much appreciated.

Stay safe and keep crafting!

Saturday Spot

Hi! I'm here today to tell you all about the Weekend Workout Challenge that's going on in the AAA Cards facebook group.

Can you guess what the challenge is? Well of course it has to be a CAS card, but the challenge is to include ribbon or twine. I didn't think the two were compatible and never even consider using ribbon or twine when creating CAS cards. But I'm changing my mind. See what you think.

I think the ribbon or twine needs to be very minimal and part of the of the focal point rather than added on as an extra embellishment like you see with multi layered non CAS cards. And the whole look still needs to be understated and clean looking, but it's a choice that is growing on me.

Supplies:
Ink: SU, night of navy
Ribbon from my stash

What do you think about ribbon or twine on CAS cards? I'd be interested to hear. Or better still pop on over to the AAA Cards facebook group and join in with the fun - HERE

Polkadoodles Anything Goes Craft & Card Making Challenge

Time for another Friday Challenge at Polkadoodles. As always it's Anything Goes.

The theme the DT were asked to use for this week is Easter.

I decided to create a twisted easel card and used papers from Scrumptious Sugar to decorate and set the colours.

I then coloured up the adorable Holly Easter Bunny to match and matted her onto layers of card and paper using the Posydoodles oval dies.

Next I die cut some filigree flowers using the medium and small dies from Flower Flourish and papers from Scrumptious Sugar, Bright & Beautiful and All About The Dudes. I added an enamel dot to the centre of each and used one of them as the easel stopper.

Supplies:
Dies: Polkadoodles, Ovals & Flower Flourish
Pens: Copic

Thanks so much for dropping by today. I'll hope you'll find time to join in with this week's Polkadoodles Challenge - HERE. Remember it's always Anything Goes and there are prizes to be won so you've got nothing to lose by playing along.

Stay safe and keep crafting!

Funky Fossil February Release - Introducing Magical & Leafy Circle Die

Last day of introductions to Funky Fossil's February release. The stamp set is just so beautiful and dreamlike and gorgeous and the die is equally awesome and oh so useful.

I'm starting with the die which I cut from purple card - ha bet you wouldn't have guessed that! I then placed along one edge and stamped a greeting from Graphic Words inside it. I added some colour to the letters and the leaves on the die cut and stamped the heart from Graphic Words.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Graphic Words
Die: Funky Fossil, Leafy Circle
Inks: Versafine Clair, nocturne; Memento, grape jelly
Card: Papermill Direct, dark violet
Pens: Copic, BV000, V176

My next card uses the beautiful feather in a bottle image from Magical. And I think that's exactly what it is - Magical!

I stamped it on top of an inky print I took using the leftovers from the Leaves In The Breeze stencil I used earlier in the week - HERE. I chose a soft grey ink as I thought it suited the dreamlike quality of this stamp.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Magical
Stencil: Funky Fossil, Leaves In The Breeze
Inks: Ranger distress oxide, hickory smoke, dried marigold, worn lipstick, tumbled glass
Card: Papermill Direct, slate grey

My next card uses some brighter colours and combines the Magical feathers with the Stamps from Geo Elements.

First up I created the background inky panel and then used the crackle background stencil to add some texture. I then stamped and heat embossed the feathers on top using a twinkly embossing powder which you can just see glistening in the photo.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Magical & Graphic Words
Stencil: Funky Fossil, Crackle Background
Inks: Colorbox, guava, blueberry, ocean, grape; Versafine Clair + WOW! Neutral ultra shimmer
Die: Lil'inker, stitched mats rectangles

My final card for today uses the other main stamp from Magical combined with the Shooting Star stencil. I chose the sentiment from Magical as the image reminds me of crystal healing.

Supplies;
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Magical
Stencil: Funky Fossil, Shooting Star
Inks: Ranger distress oxide, dried marigold, tumbled glass, worn lipstick
Pens: Copic, BG10, N1, N3, YR82, RV02

Well that's a wrap for the introductions to Funky Fossil's February release. All the products will be in the shop tomorrow at 9.00am UK time. So time to make your wish list and be ready to get in there before they sell out!

I'll be back tomorrow with some more cards showcasing this release so until then stay safe and keep crafting!

Funky Fossil February Release - Introducing Feeling Sheepish

Are you ready for the next introduction to Funky Fossil's February release? It's a goodie!

Another of Donna's wonderful animal stamp sets and just possibly my favourite from this release.

I'm sharing this card first even though it was the last one I created with these stamps.  I'd been working with these stamps the day before and couldn't get them out of my head. I kept dreaming about this design all night and could hardly wait to get up in the morning and get creating!

What do you think? I don't usually do scene cards like this, but enjoyed it so much it may just become a go to style when I'm wanting a change from my usual CAS designs.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Feeling Sheepish
Stencils: Funky Fossil, Slimline Landscape, Brick Wall
Inks: SU, soft suede; Memento, tuxedo black; Ranger distress oxide, antique linen, fired brick, ripe persimmon, brushed corduroy, tumbled glass, pine needles
Pens: Copic, N1, N3, N5, R29, YR02, YR82, Y06, E37, G21, BG0000

My next card uses a cover plate die to ground and place the sheep. Those sheep! Their faces are so expressive!

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Feeling Sheepish
Ink: Memento, tuxedo black
Pens: Copic, G05, YR82, RV09, RV69, V05, C0, N1, N3, N5
Die: T4TD, Stripes Cover Plate
Embellishments: Gems from my stash

And I couldn't resist another slimline card, but this time in portrait orientation. I chose a bright blue background and coloured the flowers in reds for a strong contrast. I also added red gems to the flower centres and butterflies as well as scattering some extras randomly around the card.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Feeling Sheepish
Ink: Memento, tuxedo black
Pens: Miya oil pencils; Copic, C00, B00, N1, N3, N5
Die: T4TD, Slimline Scallops Cover Plate

Just one more day of introductions left now and it's another fantastic set tomorrow - a really dreamy set that I totally fall in love with every time I use it.

Thanks for looking today.

Stay safe and keep crafting!

Funky Fossil February Release - Introducing Birdsong

Today is the second day of introductions to the Funky Fossil February Release. And it contains the most exquisite images!

See what I mean?

And if I'm honest bird stamps are not usually my thing, but these have completely changed my mind!

I totally love that this set includes the same bird facing in different directions and AS February is the month of love I couldn't resist stamping them having a bit of a kiss. I used paper from the Patina paper pad that's part of this release and coloured up the birds in matching shades.

This set also includes several sentiments and I chose free as a bird and some freely splashed brusho ink colours for the card above.

I completed today's showcase by combining one of the birds with the Leaves In The Breeze stencil. I masked off the central circle and then inked through the stencil with three colours of distress oxide.

The bird was stamped in the middle, coloured with Miya oil pencils and then framed with a die cut stitched circle.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Birdsong
Stencil: Funky Fossil, Leaves In The Breeze
Inks: Ranger distress oxide, worn lipstick, dried marigold, tumbled glass; Versafine Clair, nocturne
Miya oil pencils
Dies: MFT Die-namics, inside/out stitched circles

Ok three more days of introductions left. I hope you'll come back again tomorrow when there's a perfect set for masculine cards being introduced.

Thanks for your time today, it's very much appreciated.

Stay safe and keep crafting!
