I can't wait to see what you think about today's introduction to
Uniko's February release. It's a bit of a stunner!
You will probably have guessed from the sneak peek that it involved a tulip and I have to say tulips are just about my most favourite flower of all! I love all the colours they come in nowadays and in my part of the UK they are grown in the fields and look totally amazing.
There are two tulips included in this stamp set but with a bit of careful masking I've managed to extend it to three. I've also used the Uniko stencil Quilted as a background. My colours are subtle and muted.
Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Spring Botanicals Tulip
Inks: Memento, tuxedo black; Ranger distress, black soot
Stencil: Uniko, Quilted
Die: Lawn Fawn, large stitched square stackables
Colours: Copic, E50, RV00; Miya oil pencils, pink, green, black
Unlike the colours of the previous card this time I've gone for bold and vibrant. If I'm honest these are the sort of colours that immediately jump into my head when I think about tulips.
I placed the stamp slightly off the edge and used Copic pens and Miya oil pencils to colour. Since taking the recent Kathy Racoosin colouring class at
Online Card Classes I've been combining both pens and pencils more often.
Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Spring Botanicals Tulip
Ink: Memento, tuxedo black
Colours: Copic, YR15, RV04, BV17, E50, BG32, G99; Miya oil pencils, purple & brown
For my final card today I've gone with a bright sunshiny yellow scheme and am hoping it may encourage the weather to warm up a bit!
As well as the Copic pen and Miya oil pencils I've also added in some white gel pen accents - another tip picked up from that colouring class.
Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Spring Botanicals Tulip
Inks: Memento, tuxedo black; Ranger distress oxide, bundled sage; Ranger distress, mustard seed
Colours, Miya oil pencils, green, purple, brown, yellow, red, mustard, black; Sakura gelly roll white
So have you got a new favourite now? There's still one more day of introductions left so I hope you'll find time to visit again tomorrow.
Thanks so much for looking today. And keep crafting!
