White with 1 - August Challenge

A new scrapbook challenge has started at White With 1 and I'm sharing my DT page today.

Well I loved the awesome sketch, but have to confess the lemon bliss had me at a bit of a loss. Yellows are not really my thing! But I found a photo with a bit of yellow and a surprising number of yellow paper scraps in my stash.

The photo and journalling are the story of my grandsons's first encounter with chocolate cake. He had so many foods that brought out an allergic reaction and griping stomach pains back then that he had missed out for a long time. A date used to be his special treat. Fortunately he's now beginning to grow out of many of them and new foods are gradually being introduced back into his diet, but the sheer pleasure of this allergy free chocolate cake just shines out from the pics.

Just look at his face concentrating! A gorgeous little squishy!

I inked round the edges of some of the diecuts to help them stand out from the same coloured background a bit more. And added my usual mix of tiny word stickers and enamel dots in clusters to frame the layout.

Supplies:
Papers: Craft Creations Ltd, gingham; Simple Stories, I Am; EP, Country Drive; scraps from my stash
Punch: ek, border; Martha Stewart, heart
Die: Lawn Fawn, hearts; Xcut, Spiro Circles
Inks: Ranger distress, black soot
Alphas: Freckled Fawn, puffy; Simple Stories, Say cheese
Stickers: Simple Stories, I Am, So Rad, So Fancy; Vicki Boutin sticker book; Maggie Holmes sticker book; Tim Holtz, small talk
Embellishments: washi from my stash; EP, Good Day Sunshine enamel dots

I'm so honoured to have had you stop by my blog today. thanks hugely for your company.

Stay safe and keep crafting!

Funky Fossil July/August Pre-Release Peeks - Festive Phrases

Today is the final day of peeks at the Funky Fossil new release. Tomorrow from 9.00am all the stamp sets will be in the shop for you to purchase. Then next Friday at 9.00am Sarah will on Hochanda demonstrating using the Christmas sets.

A bit of a feast of Festive Sentiments don't you think? Some are able to be used as the main focus of a card and others will sit beautifully on any type of Christmas card.

For my first card I combined one of the smaller sentiments with the Antler Background stencil. I'm keeping with my theme of non-traditional Christmas colours that I've used for most of this release and love how the antlers look in this mix of bright colours.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Festive Phrases
Stencil: Funky Fossil, Antler Background
Ink: Versafine Clair, nocturne; Ranger distress oxide, picked raspberry, peacock feathers, twisted citron
Die: Lawn Fawn, stitched square stackables

Same mix of colours but a different stencil, Elegant Tree, and a greeting from the Festive Sentiments set.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Festive Phrases
Stencil: Funky Fossil, Elegant Tree
Inks: Ranger distress oxide, twisted citron, picked raspberry, peacock feathers; Versafine Clair, nocturne
Colour: Miya oil pencils

And another along the same lines using the Skinny Trees stencil. These are definitely going to be my go to designs for cards this year. Loving their modern and contemporary vibe.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Festive Phrases
Stencil: Funky Fossil, Skinny Trees
Inks: Versafine Clair, nocturne; Ranger distress oxide, picked raspberry, twisted citron, peacock feathers
Colour: Miya oil pencils

Then for my last share today I ditched the funky colours, but just couldn't resist this ultra cool and CAS design.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Festive Phrases
Stencil: Funky Fossil, Antler Background
Inks: Versafine Clair, nocturne; Ranger distress, brushed corduroy
Red gem stone from my stash

So all the peeks completed and time for you to start to compile your shopping list. I will have a few more cards to share tomorrow to tempt you all over again, I hope you'll come pay a visit.

Thanks for your time today, I really appreciate you stopping by my blog.

Stay safe and keep crafting!

Uniko Challenge #60 Reminder - In My Garden + optional twist Hot Summer Colours

I'm here today to remind you about the challenge that's going on at Uniko right now. It's such an easy and popular theme too!

I really love the look of orange and pink together and decided to use them as my hot Summer colours. And a smattering of yellow too!

I began with the floral panel stamping flowers from three different Flower Power sets as randomly as I could - not really my thing random. I then heat embossed them using clear powder and added some background colours using distress inks.

I used Miya oil pencils to add some extra details and also stamped the tiny circles to fill in some of the spaces between the flowers. A bit of die cutting and matting and I was done.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Flower Power #1, #2, #5 & #7, Simply Said Birthday
Inks: Versafine Clair nocturne, Versamark clear, Stampendous clear embossing powder; Ranger distress, picked raspberry, mustard seed, twisted citron
Die: Lil'inker, stitched mats long & skinny rectangles
Colours: Miya oil pencils

I hope you will find the time to go take a look at the gorgeous cards from my teammies at Uniko and also soak in the magic of the exquisite card created by our Guest Designer Anushree. Find them all HERE.

Thanks for stopping by today, I really appreciate it.

Stay safe and keep crafting!

Funky Fossil July/August Pre-Release Peeks - Introducing Elegant Ornaments

Day 4 of the peeks at Funky Fossil's new release. And some stamps for those that enjoy intricate patterns.

Well to me they just had to be heat embossed with something sparkly! I used two papers from the pad Let It Snow as the background and strung them up with some silver thread.

Even though there are some sentiments included with this set the one I've used is from tomorrow's introduction.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Elegant Ornaments, Festive Phrases
Paper: Funky Fossil, In To The Blue
Inks: Versamark clear + WOW! Sparkling Snow embossing powder; Ranger alcohol ink, pool & sailboat blue; SU, night of navy
Die: Whimsy Stamps, Wavy Edgers
Silver thread from my stash

Still heat embossing onto paper but this time In To the Blue.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Elegant Ornaments
Paper: Funky Fossil, In To The Blue
Inks: Versafine Clair, nocturne; Versamark clear + WOW! Sparkling Snow embossing powder
Die: MFT Die-namics, double stitched circle stax
Silver thread from my stash

And another dingly dangly one! I hung the ornament inside a circle I die cut from the deer paper from Let It Snow.

This time the sparkle comes from the background card and not the heat embossed ornament.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Elegant Ornaments
Paper: Funky Fossil, Let It Snow
Inks: SU, emerald envy + Stampendous clear embossing powder
Die: MFT Die-namics, inside/out stitched circles
Card, Papermill Direct, orchid sparkle

And one final card using ta paper from the In To The Blue pad again. I attached the heat embossed - on a bit of a theme here - to some die cut banners.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Elegant Ornaments
Paper: Funky Fossil, In To The Blue
Inks: Versamark clear + WOW! Sparkling Snow embossing powder; Ranger alcohol, pool, sailboat blue
Die: MFT Die-namics, stitched fishtail flag stax

One more day of peeks tomorrow - you're so going to love the sentiments and fonts in this set. See you then!

But in the meantime stay safe and keep crafting!

Funky Fossil July/August Pre-Release Peeks - Introducing Christmas Characters

If you're into cute Christmas stamps then today's set will be right up your street!

This set has been designed by Funky Fossil DT member Donna Gray and includes the most adorable images that are her signature style.

So I was thinking of a little window on the world with the tree indoors looking out at the cutest ever snowman. the sentiment is from a set that will be featured on Friday.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Christmas Characters & Festive Phrases
Stencil: Funky Fossil, In The Clouds
Inks: Memento, tuxedo black, London fog
Die: Lawn Fawn, foursquare backdrop portrait
Pens: Copic G17, B04, R29, C1, C3

My next card pairs up the long nosed reindeer with the Snow Globe stencil. This reindeer reminds me so much of my oldest son's greyhound and I know I'll be using it on his Christmas card this year.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Christmas Characters
Stencil: Funky Fossil, Snow Globe
Inks: Memento, espresso
Pens: Copic, RV04, W0, W3, W5

And since the Snow Globe stencil was out on my desk I quickly inked up another background and added the polar bear this time.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Christmas Characters
Stencils: Funky Fossil, Snow Globe & Snow Storm
Inks: Memento, tuxedo black & elderberry
Pen: Copic, C5

My final share today is a little gift box. I used the Snow Storm stencil to create a background, shifting it slightly to add some heat embossed sparkle on top.

I stamped, coloured and hand cut the fairy and bird with letter twice and used foam pads to adhere them to the box.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Christmas Characters
Stencil: Funky Fossil, Snow Storm
Inks: Ranger distress, mermaid lagoon; Versamark clear + WOW! sparkling snow embossing powder
Pens: Copic, E50, RV09, B04, BG34
Die: Time For Tea Designs, Mini Gift Box

Still two more days of introductions before they will all be available to buy on Saturday 1st August. Tomorrow's stamps are back to a more traditional theme - hope to see you then!

Thanks for looking. Stay safe and keep crafting!

Funky Fossil July/August Pre-Release Peeks - Introducing Filigree Flakes & Let It Snow Paper Pad

Are you ready for some chill? Well this peek at Funky Fossil's Filigree Flakes may just be the answer.

But as it's only July I felt the need to go off piste with my colours for this first card.

I used the stencil Abstract Bamboo Background to create a rainbow coloured background and then stamped and heat the flakes onto vellum. I coloured each one to match the background and popped them up onto foam pads.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Filigree Flakes
Stencil: Funky Fossil, Abstract Bamboo Background
Inks: Versafine Clair, nocturne, Versamark clear + WOW! opaque bright white embossing powder; Ranger distress oxide, picked raspberry, peacock feathers, twisted citron
Vellum from my stash

My next card uses one of the fabulous papers from the new paper pad Let It Snow. A really gorgeous mix of non-traditional colours with some iconic Christmas patterns.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Filigree Flakes
Paper Funky Fossil, Let It Snow
Inks: Versamark clear + WOW! sparkling snow embossing powder
Die: MFT Die-namics, stitched basic edges

I almost went with traditional colours for my next card but used some icy blues instead.

The background was created by smooshing the inks using an acrylic block. The flakes were stamped and heat embossed with a thick and funky embossing powder.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Filigree Flakes
Inks: Ranger distress, mermaid lagoon, blueprint sketch; Versamark clear + WOW! black magic embossing powder
Dies: Whimsy Stamps, Wavy Edgers; MFT Die-namics, stitched jumbo fishtail banner

I couldn't resist one last card in my favourite purples and went with a shaker window.

The greeting is  stamped and heat embossed onto acetate and is from another new stamp set in this release which will be featured on Friday of this week.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Filigree Flakes, Festive Phrases
Inks: Versamark clear + WOW! embossing powders - Sparkling Snow & Fairy Dust
Die: MFT Die-namics, Peek-a-boo Circle Window
Sequins: Pretty Pink Posh
Acetate from my stash

Two down and three more to go before the final reveal and release on Saturday 1st August. I hope you'll drop by again tomorrow when it's still Christmas but in a very adorable and cute way.

Stay safe and keep crafting!

Friday Focus

Today I'm sharing a scrapbook page I created using the sketch from Let's Get Sketchy.

Here's my page:

The background paper is one I've had in my stash forever and was a freebie in a scrapbook magazine way back when they were such things! The strips were cut from left over pieces of patterned paper and I made a template for the the bottom splayed out bits to use as a pattern to get them to the correct sizes.

I added some embellishment clusters, word stickers and a die cut title following the sketch's placement.

Supplies:
Dies: Xcut, Spiro circles & Stars; Spellbinders, Sprightly sprockets; STAMPlorations, Life Is Good
Stickers: Pink Fresh Studio, Everyday Musings; Tim Holtz, Quotations; YNS Gumdrops, Milk & Cookies

Thanks so much for looking today. It's always a pleasure to have your company.

Stay safe and keep crafting!
