White with 1 - February Challenge

I'm back again today with my DT scrapbook page for the new challenge at White with 1.

No photo description available.   No photo description available.

This month as well as the colour there is also a sketch to follow.

I created a border pattern using a stencil from Funky Fossil and blended two colours of ink to get the correct colour. I then added the white background, placed the photos and started adding the embellishment clusters.

I cut up some of the word stickers to make them fit and also chopped off some words to get the phrase I wanted. I used faux stitching on my layout, both die cut and hand drawn.

Supplies:
Papers: Graphic 45 Flutter Collection; SU, Feels Like Frost
Stencil: Funky Fossil, Crackle Background
Inks: SU, pacific point; Ranger distress, blueprint sketch
Dies: Lawn Fawn, Mr Louie's ABCs; Xcut, spiro circles; MFT Die-namics, double stitched rectangles
Embellishments: MME enamel dots, Necessities
Stickers: Simple Stories, Summer Vibes; Bella Blvd, Secrets of the Sea; Doodlebug Designs Inc, Dragons Tails; Tim Holtz Idea-ology, Small Talk; Elle's Studio, puffy hearts

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today. I hope to see your pages popping up in the white with 1 facebook group - HERE.   And more info about the challenge - HERE.

And keep crafting!

Uniko January Release In Review & Brand Ambassador Blog Hop

YAY! I'm so pleased you dropped by today as I am showcasing some of the new January release from Uniko and have details about how to win two stamp sets.

And take a look at how I've used them in my showcase:

First up is the beautiful Hello Lovely peony cluster stamp. I prepared a background using three colours of distress ink and an older stamp, Large Background French Script and then stamped the peonies and greeting on top. I added extra colour using oil pencils to make the flowers pop even more.

Supplies:
Inks: Versafine Clair, nocturne, SU, smoky slate; Ranger distress, bundled sage, pine needles, peeled paint
Colours: Miya oil pencils
Embellishments: Pretty Pink Posh, clear drops

And I've sort of fallen in love with the Hello Lovely stamps and created another card using them combined with Background Blocks Scattered Hearts.

I stamped and hand cut the peony cluster and then used this as a guide to add colours around the edges using water colour brush pens - a technique I learnt by watching a Toni Darroch Youtube video. Once this was dry I stamped the hearts on top. Then I stuck the peonies down and stamped the greeting. The final touch was to flick gold glitter paint over using a paintbrush.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Hello Lovely, Background Blocks Scattered Hearts
Ink: Versafine Clair, nocturne
Colours: Arteza water brush pens; Jen Hadfield, gold glitter spray

My final card for today uses the Background Blocks Scattered Hearts paired up with greetings from You Are Sentiments Outlined.

I used a Kaleidacolor ink pad to get the variation in colours and then chopped up the sentiments after stamping them to create a whole new greeting. Such a fabulous way to extend the use of stamps!

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Background Blocks, Scattered Hearts, You Are Sentiments Outlined
Ink: Versafine Clair, nocturne; Kaleidacolor, berry bliss

So would you like to know what the prize is for this blog hop? And of course how to win it!

Well simply visit all the DT who are taking part in this hop and leave a comment on each blog before midnight on Thursday 6th February 2020 and it could be you!

Tuesday Talk

A quick little post today as I'm still loving those Funky Fossil Quirky Owls and have a trio of atcs to share today.

Each card was started with a left over scrap of background using brusho on top of a brayered Color Box ink. The owls were stamped on top and colour added using Miya oil pencils. All were finished off with some Tim Holtz word stickers and puffy hearts or stars from Paperchase.

And there's still time to leave a comment on the release day post - find all the links HERE - to be in with a chance to win the entire release.

Thanks for your time today, I'm really grateful to have had your company.

And keep crafting!

And here's a little more DT inspiration from me. My first card uses the very gorgeous and different Adventure stamps.

This two colour look was so easy to achieve using my misti and Memento inks. Ad I love how the two colours have blended into each other where the river and trees meet.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Adventure
Inks: Memento, cottage ivy, bahama blue; Versafine Clair, nocturne

Another card this time using the beautiful and peaceful Serenity stamps and a bit of off the edge stamping.

I'm sticking with a similar colour palette for all my share's today and I used a Kaleidacolor ink pad to achieve the gradient of colour on this card.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Serenity
Inks: Kaleidacolor, riviera; Verafine Clair, nocturne

And how could I resist those Quirky Owls! I combined my favourite owl with the spectacles - reminds me of me - and a FF stencil Forest Foliage.

The owl was stamped and masked off. then i used distress oxide in two colours to ink through the stencil. A simple CAS card.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Quirky Owls
Inks: Ranger distress oxide, bundled sage, pine needles; Versafine Clair, nocturne
Stencil: Funky Fossil, Forest Foliage

And for my final share I've used Blooming Birthday

As well as keeping to similar colours for my release day shares I've pretty much kept all my cards CAS too. I stamped the leaves in opposite corners using first and second generation inking and then stamped and hand cut the flowers. I used foam pads for extra dimension.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Blooming Birthday
Inks: SU, rich razzleberry, garden green

Well I'm saying a huge thank you to everyone that's made it down to the bottom of this post. I hope you've enjoyed looking and I've helped you make decisions about which stamps to buy.

But then maybe you'd like to be in with a chance to win the entire release? Well Sarah's going to randomly pick one winner who leaves comments across the DT blogs and instagram posts. She's not revealing which DT or where though, so best leave comments everywhere to be in with the best chance of winning.

Thanks so much for your time today. And good luck to everyone, I hope it's you!

And of course keep crafting!

Funky Fossil January Pre-Release Peeks - Scandi Home

Welcome to my last previews of the Funky Fossil January Release. And today's share is something a bit different again. It really reminds me of lots of the cross stitch patterns I used to stitch and is so instantly appealing.

Image may contain: text

And it seemed to demand simple primary colours so that's what I used on this first card.

I love the symmetrical look of many cross stitch sampler pieces and I guess this card was really inspired by that. I started with the house in the middle and then built up the picture around it.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil Scandi Home
Inks: SU, real red, daffodil delight, cucmber crush, pumpkin pie

My next card uses two shades of blue and was inspired by the Delft china look. Once again I started with the largest stamp from the ones I wanted to use - the teapot -  and I built up the rest of the pattern around it. Although the end result is not symmetrical I'm thinking it still has that sort of feel to it.

I finished off by adding a corner stamp to the base card using the opposite corners to the top card. I like how this gives it an unbalanced but somehow balanced look.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Scandi Home
Inks: Memento, bahama blue, danube blue

My final card is right back to my roots - simple, clean and quick to make.

I stamped the coffee pot in dark blue and then die cut the card into a stitched square. this was matted onto a dark blue stitched square and then onto a white stitched square before being adhered to a dark blue card base.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Scandi Home
Ink: SU, night of navy
Dies: Lawn Fawn, stitched square stackables

Phew! That's the end of a few days of jam packed crafting! Thank you so much for taking a look and spending time with me here on my blog.

I'll be back tomorrow with a few more cards to share using the Funky Fossil January release stamps to maybe help you make up your mind about which sets are going to jump into your shopping basket. Or you could just go for the whole lot!

And........

I'll have details about how you could be in with a chance to win the whole caboodle. So be sure to check back in.

But in the meantime keep on crafting!

Funky Fossil January Pre-Release Peeks - Adventure

Day Three of the Funky Fossil January Release previews. And this set of stamps is so different from anything I've ever seen and I'm totally smitten!

No photo description available.

I've made a trio of cards using this set, but I know it will be fabulous for scrapbook pages and art journal pages too.

I created a background using distress inks keeping the yellow to the middle as a sort of sunrise/sunset and flicked water onto it for added interest. Then I simply stamped the tree line on top using just half of the stamp. The birds and sentiment quote are also included with this set.

I matted it onto black card and then onto a mirri rainbow holographic card from Papermill Direct.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Adventure
Inks: Versafine Clair, nocturne; Ranger distress, wilted violet, blueprint sketch, mustard seed, chipped sapphire
Card: Papermill Direct, mirri rainbow holographic

This stamps set is so artsy that I went a bit that way with my next card. I stamped the mountain/tree image three times across the top and three times across the bottom to create my background. I started each stamping in the middle and then added the half stamp to either side. I also added in one of the small bird silhouettes to the top row.

Next I stamped the quote and die cut it and matted it onto rainbow holographic card. This was popped up onto a piece of funky foam before adhering to the background panel. The whole card was doubled matted, first onto a holographic layer and then onto a black card base.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Adventure
Inks: Versafine Clair, nocturne
Die: MFT Die-namics, double stitched rectangles
Card: Papermill Direct, mirri rainbow holographic

My final card to share today used some bright oranges and yellows - colours quite out of my comfort zone, but so right for these images. I was aiming for a sunrise/sunset vibe when I prepared this brusho background.

I used the Funky Fossil Flying High stencil and black soot distress ink to create the bird border at the top and then stamped the tree and river triangle and quote at the bottom using Versafine Clair ink.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Adventure
Inks: Versafine Clair, nocturne; Brusho, brilliant red, orange, yellow; Ranger distrs, black soot

One more day of previews left and then you'll be able to make your purchase. Do you have a favourite yet? Well hold on to that thought because tomorrow's stamps may just make you dither, especially if you're into cross stitching!

Thanks so much for your time today and be sure to come back again tomorrow.

And in the meantime keep crafting!

Funky Fossil January Pre-Release Peeks - Blooming Birthday & Serenity

Wow! Not just one set to show you today - two!

Image may contain: drawing   Image may contain: text

How different they are too!

I'm starting with the Blooming Birthday set. So beautiful and endless possibilities for combining and colouring.

To create the background I used a new to me technique learnt at workshop last year - Smack Down. A pretty good title for the technique too because that's exactly what you do. Ink up a stamp and then smack it down onto the card several times until there is no ink left. Repeat this randomly across the card, change up the stamp and ink colour and keep going until the whole card is covered. Very satisfying!

I finished off by adding a sentiment belt and a coloured hand cut bloom from the set.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Blooming Birthday
Inks: Memento, tuxedo black; SU lemon lime twist; Ranger distress, peacock feathers, mermaid lagoon
Pens: Copic, YG01, B04

For my next card I used a prepared background that I created using my gelli plate. I covered the plate in pink ink and then dropped two shades of  Brusho powders mixed with water on the top. I took a print and then once dried die cut it into a rectangle.

I then stamped the flowers and coloured them using Copic pens in shades to tone in with the background. I die cut this panel and popped it up on a piece of funky foam for added dimension.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Blooming Birthday
Inks: Memento, tuxedo balck; Brusho, violet, purple; ColorBox, guave
Dies: Lil'inker, stitched mats retangles; MFT Die-namics, double stitched rectangles
Pens: Copic, V17, RV04, RV09, TG01, YG13

I'm moving on to the Serenity stamp set for my next card. And these stamps have really caught my eye and I love how they look! So I chose some calming serene colours and created this card.

I started with the background and used a Kaleidacolor ink pad to get some variation in colour. There is something so pleasing about the combination of these symbols, just gets to me.

I then stamped the yoga pose lady onto a die cut square rotated to form a diamond and popped it up onto funky foam before adhering to the background panel.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Serenity
Inks: Kaleidacolor, Caribbean sea; Versafine Clair, nocturne
Die: Lawn Fawn, stitched square stackables

My final card for today uses the other grouping of symbols and some of the smaller stamps from this set.

Once again I made use of a Kaleidacolor ink pad to add colour variation and kept the design nice and CAS. I'm finding it difficult to move on with this post as I just want to sit here and look at this card - the stamps are so restful and really touch my heart.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Serenity
Ink: Kaleidacolor, creole spice

Well that's a wrap on another day of previews of the Funky Fossil January release. Two more days of previews left and then on Saturday time to order through the shop and join in with a chance to win the entire release. Wowsers!

Thanks for looking. And stay serene and keep crafting!
