I think I had that date in February on my mind when I created this first card. It works so well for a masculine Valentine Day's card without being too syrupy sweet.
I created the back panel by using my gelli plate and gave it a wash of blueberry ink. Then I dropped some mixed with water turquoise brusho on top and took a print. Magic! I popped it behind a die cut heart window and then stamped the greeting and a trio of small hearts.
I stamped and hand cut one of the owls and added some colour using the Splatters stencil. He went up on foam pads and was placed towards the bottom of the heart window.
Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Quirky Owls
Inks: Versafine Clair, nocturne; Brusho, turquoise; Colorbox, blueberry; Memento, Bahama blue
Stencil: Funky Fossil, Splatters
Die: MFT Die-namics, stitched heart peek-a-boo window
On my second card I had a bit of fun stacking up three of the owls and partially colouring them with Prismacolor pencils.
I thought the sentiment and owl mix would make a great congratulations card maybe for a graduation or passing a driving test.
Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil Quirky Owls
Ink: Versafine Clair, nocturne
Colours: Prismacolor, lilac, true green, violet blue, process red, pink, light aqua
And just one more because I couldn't stop playing with these owlsome stamps!
I started this one with the Quilted Circles stencil and then stamped, coloured and hand cut the owl. He got popped up onto an action wobble spring and sits there looking very wise and wonderful.
See how he wobbles!
