Thursday Thoughts

Today I'm playing along with The Paper Players Sketch Challenge.

Well I suppose it really should be a Halloween card I'm sharing today but it's not. I've gone with Christmas instead.

I've used two of the new Uniko Christmas stamp sets - Festive Sentiments Outlined and Season of Beauty. And my 2019 Christmas colours of turquoise with black and white card from Papermilldirect. The poinsettia has been created using the three sizes of smaller leaves from the stamp set. Each leaf has been hand cut and layered up with glue and foam pads for the top layer.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Festive Sentiments Outlined, Season of Beauty
Ink: Memento, tuxedo black
Card: Papermilldirect, pale turquoise, plain black, super smooth white

Thanks so much for you time today, I'm so pleased to have had you visit my blog.

And keep crafting!

Wednesday Words

No crafting to share today and this is the reason why!

An empty craft room! It's having its artex ceiling plastered over and then a coat of fresh paint on the walls. So all my time has been spent moving my stash to other rooms in the house. I will craft again in between the painting, but only if I can remember where I've put everything.........! Watch this space.

Thanks for looking and unlike me keep crafting!

Tuesday Talk

Have you ever been to a Pumpkin Patch shop or event? Well I went for the first time ever this year and had the best time. Naturally it's made its way onto a scrapbook page.

I used the sketch and colour combo from White with One - how perfect was the citrus orange for my photos!

Here's my page:

Once I'd sized and printed my papers I selected some orange patterned papers from my scraps box and adherd them down to the white background paper.

I added three small stacks of embellishments following the sketch for placement and also a little journalling about the event.

Supplies:
Papers: My Mind's Eye Mischievous; Bella Blvd, Secrets of the Sea; scraps from stash
Alphas: Hobbycraft, chipboard
Stickers: Vicki Bourtin sticker book; Hobbycraft; MME, Cut & Paste enamel dots

I also made a mini photograph album with my grandson to contain all the other pics from the day. He really got carried away with the decoration!

It's been fabulous to have you visit my blog today, I'm really grateful for your time.

And keep crafting!

AAA Cards - #152 Maxi White Space + optional twist Geometric

Time for the next challenge at AAA Cards. We're after as much white space as possible for this challenge and have added in the optional twist of Geometric.

As Uniko is our sponsor and they have an excellent selection of geometric stamps that's the way I went with my DT card.

I used just one stamp with two colours and stamped the greeting straight on top to leave as much empty white space as I could.

Supplies:
Inks: SU, tempting turquoise, lemon lime twist; Versafine Clair, nocturne

The rest of the AAA Cards DT and our GD Emily have also made wonderful CAS cards to inspire you to play along. Do go and check them all out HERE.

Huge thanks for dropping by today, it's always a pleasure to have your company.

Uniko October Release Blog Hop

Well have you spent up on Christmas card making supplies yet? And have you seen the wonderful new Christmas themed release from Uniko? Perhaps you'd like the chance to win them? Read on and find out how.

But first some inspiration using Uniko's new Christmas release to make you want them even more! I've chosen a simple colour scheme of black, white, kraft and pale turquoise and been busy crafting up some ideas.

This particular stamp set - Winter Foliage - is an oldie but goodie given a brand new lease of life with its matching designer dies. It has to be my favourite from this release and has barely moved off my craft room table since I opened it. I paired it up with another go to for me at the moment - Festive Sentiments Outlined.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Winter Foliage, Festive Sentiments Outlined
Inks: Versafine Clair, nocturne; SU, tempting turquoise
Card: Papermilldirect, pale turquoise, black; AC, kraft
Dies: Uniko, Winter Foliage; Lawn Fawn, stitched rectangle frames

Next up is the pretty Background Blocks Scandinavian Christmas. Once again I've paired it up with a greeting from Festive Sentiments Outlined.

I stamped and heat embossed the block onto kraft card and then added colours using my Prismacolor pencils.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Background Blocks Scandinavian Christmas, Festive Sentiments Outlined
Inks: Versamark + Ranger superfine black embossing powder
Card: Papermilldirect, pale turquoise, black; AC, kraft
Colours: Prismacolor, white, light aqua

My next card uses the leaves from Season of Beauty stamped in lack and turquoise. the greeting is also from this stamp set - such great value!

I added in some of the tiny stamps from the set and a trio of clear gems too.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Season of Beauty
Inks: Versafine Clair, nocturne; SU, tempting turquiose
Card: Papermilldirect, pale turquoise, black; AC, kraft
Embellisment: Pretty Pink Posh, clear gems

My final share is something completely different! I die cut the  Sparkling Snowflake four times and then adhered them together to create a hanging tree bauble. And I couldn't resist adding some Stickles sparkle as well.

Supplies:
Die: Uniko, Sparkling snowflake
Card: Papermilldirect, pale turquoise
Stickles, waterfall

That's all my shares for today. Now you need to get yourself on over to the Uniko blog to find out how to win and follow round the blog hop leaving comments as you go may just be the way.

Friday Focus

I'm playing along with the challenge at Perfetly CAS today. Cards fro this challenge always have to use one third or less and this month's theme is Birthday.

I used one of the fun animals from Funky Fossil's Wild Things stamp set and placed it on the right and near the bottom of my card front.  I then cut a mask and also masked off a vertical strip and inked over with a blend of three distress oxide colours.

I removed the masks and then added a little colour to the giraffe with Copic pens. I finished it all off with a little sentiment from Uniko's Simply Said set.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Wild Things; Uniko, Simply Said
Inks: Versafine Clair, nocturne; Ranger distress oxide, cracked pistachio, peacock feathers, salty ocean
Pens: E000, E00, E21

Huge thanks for looking today, I really love having your company for a while.

Thursday Thoughts

Today I'm sharing a card i made for the Theme & Photo Prompt Challenge at STAMPlorations.

I was completely smitten by the black background and vibrant colours and based my card very much on this. I hope you like it!

I used the brand new Uniko Background Blocks Scandinavian Christmas stamp and heat embossed it in white onto black card stock. I added colour using my Prismacolor pencils and trimmed the panel down to fit behind a die cut frame.

No surprise that it was the purply pink colour that mostly caught my eye and I chose this colour for my base card and sentiment banner.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Background Blocks Scandinavian Christmas, Festive Sentiments Outlined
Inks: Versamark + WOW! opaque bright white embossing powder; Versafine Clair, nocturne
Dies: MFT Die-namics, stitched fishtail flags; Lawn Fawn, stitched rectangle frames
Colours: Prismacolor, Spring green, canary yellow, process red

Thanks so much for dropping by today, it's always so much more fun when I have company.

AAA Cards Exchange

Today I'm sharing the card I created to take part in the October AAA Cards facebook exchange. The theme is Simplicity is Beauty.

Here's my card:

I used the brand new Uniko Season of Beauty floral and gave it a bit of a non-Christmas styling. I stamped it using three colours and then masked it off to stamp the lines in the darkest ink. I chose the Simplicity is Beauty theme for October's exchange as that jumped into my head as soon as I saw this simplified poinsettia stamp. And it is very beautiful!

I kept to the theme Simplicity is Beauty by just adding a simple greeting underneath it.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Season of Beauty, Background Builders Classics, the greeting is from a discontinued set
Inks: SU, sweet sugarplum, berry burst, rich rszzleberry; Versafine Clair, nocturne

I hope you'll come visit the AAA Cards facebook group and maybe take part in this exchange too. Find it all HERE.

Thanks so much for visiting today, I really appreciate you taking the time.

And keep crafting!

Tuesday Talk

Today I'm sharing a tag I created to play along with the challenge at Tag You're It.

All those beautiful autunal colours and leaves in the inspiration photo really appealed to me. Here's my tag:

I cut the tag using my Silhouette Cameo and then placed the Funky Fossil Forest Foliage stencil over it and inked through with three colours of distress oxide inks.

I kept it very simple just matting it onto a purple slightly larger tag and then onto an even larger green tag all tied together with multi coloured twine. I added a wooden leaf to finish it all off.

Supplies:
Stencil: Funky Fossil, Forest Foliage
Inks: Ranger distress oxide, fossilised amber, candied apple
Die: tag cut with Silhouette Cameo
Embellishments: Funky Fossil, Spring Wreath MDF pack

Thanks for looking today, it's been so fun to have your company.

Monday Moment

Today I'm sharing a trio of Halloween gift bags I created using my Silhouette Cameo and Funky Fossil stencils.

As it matches so well with the current challenge at The Male Room I'm playing along with them. Just for fun of course as I'm admin for this challenge and not eligible to win.

So I continued my battle with the Silhouette machine and cut three bags using one of their designs. And yay! They actually cut at first attempt!

Then I had fun decorating them! The first one uses the Crooked Webs stencil and my favourite purple mixed with a citrus green. The spider is from a pack I found on Amazon and the ribbon from Hobbycraft.

The next one uses the very Halloween colours of orange and black and the Spooky Faces stencil. I added in some googly eyes and die cut words.

The last one is a mix of the Spiders and Creepy Characters stencils and a left over die cut ghost from my spinner cards. It was one of the several I cut that were too large to spin in the hole - find out about that HERE.

Supplies:
Stencils: Funky Fossil, Spooky Faces, Crooked Webs, Spiders, Creepy Characters
Inks: Ranger distress, black soot, wilted violet, twisted citron
Dies: Frantic Stamper Inc, scary words
Embellishments: Wobbly eyes, from my stash; ribbons, Hobbycraft; spider, Amazon

So how do you create for Halloween? I'll be looking out for you projects in The Male Room gallery!

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today, it's always so much more fun when you do.

And keep crafting!
