Wednesday Words

Today I'm sharing a set of ATCs I've made for the challenge at Happy Little Stampers. The theme is Ocean/Sea.

Here they are:

I started with a teal card and stencilled over it using A Colorful Life's Waves stencil. I then stamped, coloured and die or hand cut the images from clearly Besotted. Once I'd decided where to place the images I stamped the bubbles and greetings before adhering them.

I finished each card with a trio of clear gems and some Wink of Stella sparkle and matted them all onto a matching teal card base.

Supplies:
Stamps: Clearly Besotted, Fairy Tale Mermaid, Sweet Sea-horse, Under the Sea
Stencil: A Colorful Life, Waves
Inks: Ranger distress oxide, twisted citron; Versafine Clair, nocturne; Memento, tuxedo black
Pens: Copic, YG01, YG03, YG13, YG17, Y13, Y18, BG15, BG32, B02, B04, B06, E000, R20
Embellishments: clear gems; Wink of Stella, clear

Thursday Thoughts

Today begins a few days of sharing scrapbook pages. Yep I've been scrapping up a storm and trying to catch up with all the wonderful photos my grandchildren keep blessing me with!

And just for a change there are no challenges involved, they've all been made just for the pleasure of creating and keeping memories.

This page began with inking through the Itty Bitty Love stencil from A Colorful Life. Then I simply stacked up some patterned paper scraps fairly randomly to make a shelf for the photos to sit on. A few stickers and added embellishments plus a little journalling and it was done.

You can see how much the boys enjoyed their play time with fire - under strict supervision of course! I'm not really sure whether it's the toasting or the eating of the marshmallows that they find the most enjoyable.

These pics were taken way back in June when we visited my middle son and his family on the Isle of Man. So you can see what I mean by needing to do a bit of catch up!

Supplies:
Papers: scraps from my stash
Stencil: A Colorful Life, Itty Bitty Love
Inks: Ranger ditress oxide
Embellishemnts: Shimelle, Box of Crayons, camera; MAMBI, washi; Cosmo Cricket, Tiny Text; Pinkfresh Studio, phrase stickers; Paperchase, puffy hearts; ep, have faith enamel dots; altenew our family enamel dots; Maggie Holmes sticker book

Friday Focus

Today I'm sharing a card that I made using a new to me idea for a stencil which is the theme of the challenge at CAS Stencil.

Here's my card:

I used the Light Loops stencil from A Colorful Life which is a 3" x 6" size and sprayed through it with some watered down ultramarine brusho that had dried up and needed wetting again. Then to add more colour I mixed in some fresh purple powder to the bottle and sprayed through the stencil a second time. And got in a bit of a mess - nothing new there when I use Brusho inks!

So after a clean up and giving the ink time to dry out I trimmed it all down leaving the spatter that occurred on either side of the stencil - you can tell from this the sort of mess I got into! I then stamped a greeting both sides of the stencil pattern, added a dark purple strip and called it done.

Supplies:
Stamps: Greeting from Uniko, Pure Florals Cosmos
Inks: Brusho, ultramrine, purple; Versafine Clair, nocturne
Stencil: A Colorful Life, Light Loops

Thursday Thoughts

I'm sharing a couple of ATCs I made to take part in the facebook Happy ATC group's events.

First up is a card I made for their monthly swap using July's theme of Sunrise & Sunset.

Image may contain: cloud, sky, ocean, text, outdoor, nature and water

I used a STAMPlorations set that focuses on the sunrise part of the theme:

I stamped it onto watercolour card and coloured it using Arteza water brush pens. They really blend and spread brilliantly. I stamped the greeting and water coloured over that too and then matted it on black and popped it up onto foam pads. I used Versafine Clair ink which I've discovered works brilliantly with water colours, but not so good with alcohol markers.

Supplies:
Stamps: STAMPlorations, New Beginnings
Inks: Versafine Clair, nocturne
Colours: Arteza brush pens
Embellishments: Glosy Accents & Wink of Stella

My second atc is for the lottery event where one lucky pick gets to receive all the cards entered and then hosts the next month's lottery. The theme for July's event is Peacocks.

No photo description available.

I started by using A Colorful Life's Doodle Wheels stencil and three shades of distress oxide ink.

I then found a peacock image from the internet and printed it on paper. I attached the stencilled card over the top of the printed image using temporary adhesive and sent it through the printer again. I finished off by using Copic pens to highlight the peacock and added sparkle and shimmer with Wink of Stella.

Supplies:
Stencil: A Colorful Life, Doodle Wheels
Inks: Ranger distress oxide, peacock feathers, cracked pistachio, mermaid lagoon
Pens: Copic, B04, B29, YG23, C3, BG32; Wink of Stella, clear

Saturday Spot

I'm sharing another of the pages that I made whilst in my scrapbooking afternoon mode. this time it's all about the boys and uses the theme from Scrap the Boys.

I have quite a lot of photos of my recent trip over to the Isle of Man and decided to go with a grid layout to accommodate a few of them in one go.

Once I'd placed all the pics I used a strip of masking tape to mark the top and bottom lines, removed the photos and use A Colorful Life, Doodle Wheels stencil to add a bit of green to the kraft background paper.

Once the photos were all replaced and adhered I ruled off the grid with a pencil and then added some journalling and embellishments. The butterflies were punched and popped up onto foam dots for added dimension.

Loving the washi stickers from STAMPlorations, just perfect for the colours of this page. And a few arrows to point the way from the journalling to the matching pics just finished everything off a treat.

Supplies:
Papers: AC, kraft cardstock; scraps from my stash
Stencil: A Colorful Life, Doodle Wheels
Ink: SU, old olive
Punch: Martha Stewart, butterflies
Embellishments: MME  Necessities arrows; STAMPlorations, washi stickers; enamel dots from my stash
Alphas: AC Thickers, Memo

Saturday Slot

Today I'm sharing a tag I created that has interactive elements and is for the current challenge at Tag You're It.

Here's it is:

I started by using the fabulous Doodle Wheels stencil from A Colorful Life and a couple of sea green distress oxide inks to make a background.  I then die cut the tag.

My interactive elements are the two sea horses from Clearly Besotted that I popped up onto card springs so that they wobble when touched. Here's a little video to show their movement.

I finished off the tag with a greeting from Uniko and a trio of matching ribbons.

Supplies:
Stamps: Clearly Besotted, Sweet Seahorse; Uniko, Birthday Wishes
Inks: Ranger distress oxide, mermaid lagoon, twisted citron; Memento, tuxedo black
Die: MFT Di-namics, stitched traditionla tags
Stencil: A Colorful Life, Doodle Wheels
Pens: Copic, BG01, BG32, BG34, YG13, YG23; Winks of Stella, clear
Springs: Ppaermania
Ribbon from my stash
