Uniko BA Inspiration

 Hello!

How are you enjoying the last two releases from Uniko?

Today I have a couple of cards to share using the Sunshine & Rainbows and Background Blocks Rays stamp sets.

I've really been getting into doodling this summer and both my cards have this incorporated.

Once the stamping was complete I used black and white gel pens to add some extra detail.

Merry Monday - Uniko BA Inspiration

Hello!

And welcome to a Merry Monday Christmas post featuring the BIG & BOLD Merry stamp set combined with the In The Forest stencil.

My first card uses a technique from Jennifer McGuire and uses both distress and distress oxide inks.

Lucky clover distress ink was applied straight from the pad to the background, then the stencil was placed over. Water was used to lift some of the ink and then once dry twisted citron and cracked pistachio distress oxide was added through the stencil.

My second card uses the exact same layout but this time the greeting was stamped onto a white die cut square. I then masked off parts of the stencil so that only three or one tree was inked.

Uniko BA Inspiration

 Hello!

Today my Uniko BA inspiration post uses a well loved stamp set, English Country Garden Butterflies, with a newer stencil, Pure Florals Chrysanthemum combined  with Nuvo Shimmer Powders.

I used watercolour card and placed the Pure Florals Chrysanthemum stencil over it. I then sprinkled on three colours of Nuvo Shimmer Powder - cherry bomb, blue blitz & sunray crossette - and spritzed it with water.

This was my first try with the powders and I was excited to see the result. I wasn't disappointed and the colours look even more special in real life as they really do shimmer and catch the light.

Once everything had dried out I stamped the English Country Garden Butterflies and greeting on top using Versafine Clair nocturne ink. 

I'm thinking now it would have been even more special if I had heat embossed the butterflies, but I wasn't sure how the powders would react to the heat. Maybe if you know you could leave me a comment below?

Uniko BA Inspiration

 Hello!

Today I'm sharing a birthday card I created using Uniko's Pure Florals Rose as a focal point on top of a inked background diamond.

I started by creating a stencil from paper using a square die to create the aperture. I then placed this over the card top and inked through with two shades of distress oxide ink - kitsch flamingo & festive berries.

Before removing the stencil I used the Background Blocks Solid Wonky Stripes stamp placed to one side and stamped it using nocturne Versafine Clair ink.

Next I stamped the smaller outline rose from Pure Florals Rose and cut it out by hand. I popped it up onto foam pads and then attached it on top of the inky diamond. I really love the look of Bev's florals without colour, I think it really showcases the fine detail.

The sentiment is from Simply Said Blocks and to finish it all off I matted the whole thing onto a slightly larger card base.

Uniko Brand Ambassador Inspiration

 Hello!

Today I'm sharing a couple of cards I created using the Mid Century Modern Florals stamps and Mid Century Modern Shapes stencil from Uniko.

I absolutely love CAS cards that have a colourful background and a simple stamping of a black image on top. so that's the look I was aiming for today.

The design for both cards is fairly similar, both starting with an inked stencil background cluster.

I then stamped straight on top with Versafine Clair nocturne ink. There is a flower stem line in the stamp set, but I chose to draw it with a ruler and fine black pen. 

The sentiments on the cards are from Everyday Sentiments and I love their clean modern style, just perfect for my two CAS cards.

Uniko BA Inspiration

Hello!

 I'm up on the Uniko blog today CASEing a couple of my older cards.

I so enjoyed seeing all the Alumni cards during February's birthday month that I decided to give it a go myself.

So I dug back in history to December 2016 and here's the first card I decided to bring bang up to date:

This card used BIG & BOLD Snow and Stunning Snowflakes and my new version uses BIG & BOLD You and the newly re-released Fun Flowers.

I kept to a similar colour scheme and the same layout, but changed up the sequins to clear drops.

And from the same time I've chosen this very CAS card to CASE.

It uses Stunning Snowflakes and my new version uses Fun Flowers and Everyday Sentiments.

This time I also kept to the same design, but completely changed the colours. 

I always used to round the bottom right corner of my cards and have tried this again for both of my updated cards. What do you think?
