WOW! Challenge 150 begins today at CAS Colours & Sketches. And we're not going to let this special day go by without a bit of a celebration. Sooo........... there are prizes to be won!
And as it's a celebration sketch challenge, my card was made with another celebration in mind - my oldest son's wedding anniversary.
So my aperture naturally became a heart. I used a Martha Stewart punch and then popped a scrap of patterned paper behind it. I picked up on the little spot of green from the paper and the number one became eight - which actually doesn't tell the full story as they've been together since school days, so it's more like eighteen years.
I added the very gorgeous Uniko heart stamped to the left of the aperture and matted the whole strip onto matching purple card. My daughter-in-law possibly loves purple even more than me.
Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Always & Forever, Plower Power #9, Classic Numbers
Inks: Memento, graped jelly; SU, pear pizzazz
As Uniko are one of the sponsors for this celebration challenge and I'm also on the Uniko DT I have a second card to share.
I'm keeping to the wedding anniversary theme, but this it's all golden. And I know from looking in card shops that Golden Wedding cards tend to be very flowery and heavily embellished, but as we're CAS and fussy is not to everyone's taste my card reflects this.
I started by die cutting and embossing a circle aperture then stamping and heat embossing all the stamped images in gold. The flower was stamped onto parchment to give a different look and I love how the gold mat paper just adds a bit of colour.
Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Flower Power #3 & #7, Classic Numbers
Ink: Versamark
Embossing: Personal Impressions, mirror gold
Die: Spellbinders, Standard Circles Small
Hope you found this post inspiring and are now ready to get your creative hat on and go try to win some prizes. Check them out, and the rest of the DT cards, here.
Thanks for dropping by today. I'm very grateful for your time.
And keep crafting!
These are both beautiful cards. I really like the elegance and simplicity of the second one and I love the personal feel to the first one (plus I love purple too !) Great way to bring my sketch to life

You have two very lovely, very elegant cards here, Jane! The floral heart on the first card is so pretty, and I like how you've used the designer paper behind the aperture to set it off.
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are gorgeous Jane! I love the purple, so crisp against the white and splash of green. The gold is classically elegant and the parchment is a fantastic touch.
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are elegant and very stylish, love your colour choices.
