Tuesday Talk

One card, two challenges today. The layout is from CAS Colours & Sketches and the theme from Time Out.

I wanted to try the watercolour paint brush stripes I've been seeing a lot of recently. So I spent a bit of time experimenting and came up with this way to achieve the effect.  I used my largest acrylic block and put stripes of Memento dew drop ink directly onto it - I discovered this works best if you put the lightest colour on first! Then I placed the card on top and gently rubbed over and hey presto it looks like you've used a paint brush.

So that was my horizontal strip done.  I stamped the vine trail by bending the stamp onto an acrylic block to make it curvy and then added some little flowers and some spots of glitter. The heart I stamped and cut out by hand, mounted onto pads and attached to the painted strip.  Finally I added a sentiment to match the theme (not showing up too well in the main photo) and a few sparkly gems.

Time Out Challenge #5

'Time Flies, Love Lasts'

I'm loving this colour combination inspired by a sheet of echo park journalling cards that was out on my desk.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko Studio, Always & Forever 7 Background Builders Vines
Inks: SU, pool party; Memento, lady bug, cantaloupe
Die: Lil'inker, stitched mats rectangles
Embellishments: Kuretake, Wink of Stella clear; MeiFlower, gems

Have you been over to AAA Cards yet? Brilliant digi prize up for grabs this week!

Thanks for dropping by today.
