Thyroid Awareness Month Blog Hop

I'm super delighted that you've dropped by my blog today as I'm taking part in the month long blog hop organised by Milka Gubo to raise awareness about thyroid problems and how to deal with them. Milka is offering a giveaway to one random winner who leaves a comment on all the blog hop stops throughout January. Find all the details HERE. I'm also offering a small giveaway - details later in this post.

Now this is an issue close to my heart as one of my daughters-in-law is on medication for life because of thyroid problems.  If you'd like to find out more about the thyroid and its associated problems and treatment there are links at the bottom of my post.

The blue paisley tie is the symbol for the Thyroid Awareness month and I picked up on this for my first card.

I used stamps from Uniko's beautiful Marvellous Mehndi stamp set and blue ink to stamp a pattern all over my card. I then went back in with a light blue to add some splodges as a background filler. The large hello is also a Uniko stamp and I matted it onto dark blue card to match the base card colour.

I'm offering the two Uniko stamps sets - Marvellous Mehndi and Big & Bold Hello as a giveaway to one random follower who leaves a comment on this post. The draw will be made on 4th February and the winner announced here on my blog on 10th February.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Marvellous Mehndi, Big & Bold Hello; SU, Gorgeous Grunge
Inks: SU, night of navy, marina mist, soft sky

My second card for this hop uses blue butterflies. The thyroid looks like a butterfly so is an obvious choice for the Thyroid awareness month.

I used the Funky Fossil butterfly stencil and a couple of blue distress oxide inks to create the flow from corner to corner. I then stamped the greeting on a strip of card which I die cut to give it a stitched edge. This I matted onto sparkly silver card and adhered across the stencilled butterflies.

I punched a butterfly from blue card and added it to the sentiment strip. I then finished off the card with a scattering of gems.

Supplies:
Stamps:Uniko, Big & Bold Hello
Stencil: Funky Fossil, butterflies
Inks: Ranger distress oxide, salty ocean, faded jeans; SU, night of navy
Die: Lil'inker, stitched mats long & skinny
Punch: Tonic
Gems from my stash
